I had the same problem with the icon disappearing, i just finished flight school mission and when you go inside the icon is there and it allowed me to manually save the game and didn’t disappear. That’s the point I’m at in the game (just about) and I can confirm what you just said is true. For some reason that works. Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Nope, won't work. You're using a PS2 right Then, first release of SA is v1 and Greatest Hits/Special Edition/The Trilogy are v2. So, the script is different making your old save game useless with the trilogy edition. A game save is identified as corrupt if the sum of all data doesn't match the checksum at the end of the file. If you load the save into the Savegame Editor 3.x and save again it will calculate a new checksum so the game should try to load it.
