Actually this was pretty common Back in the day when companies were Makining these "HD remasters" For the ps3 a lot of PS2 games lost Some Visual effects like Transparency or just general Color Correction for stuff like hair. this also Happened With the metal gear games for the MGS HD collection.

On console though, I believe the HD collection is the only option, but hey, 1 is a good game and you might as well give it a shot. Yes, worth it just for 3. I have bought DMC3 three times. Okay, so I have the 5th Anniversary Collection of Devil May Cry sitting in my backlog, sealed and untouched (I know this is a bad thing, but my backlog is gigantic). I'm contemplating upgrading to the HD collection, but I'm wondering if I should do so given my unique position of having a backwards-compatible PS3.
